Binding

We offer a range of specialist binding services for libraries, museums, archives and other organisations. Your bound publications can include new endpapers, incorporating library stationery if required, and features such as ribbon markers and foil blocking can be added. In addition, we are able to craft hard-wearing presentation and storage boxes and slip cases.

Lettering and binding requirements can be quickly and easily submitted to us electronically using our RDWOnline service.

Periodical, Newspaper and Reference Binding

Periodicals, journals, magazines, newspapers and other items can be bound to your specifications. For periodicals, adverts can be removed and title pages, contents and indexes inserted. Security triggers and barcodes can be added if required, and pockets added for CDs, maps or inserts. Degraded newspapers can be conserved, and we also offer a microfilming service.

Music Binding

We are able to rebind music or convert it from paperback to hardback, binding either in cloth or using the original cover. Music can be repaired or resewn if necessary, allowing it to lie flat when opened. Pockets can be incorporated for individual scores, which in turn are rebound using stiff card covers or cloth, and the parts lettered in black or gold with the appropriate instrument name.

Facsimile Reprint and Bind

Whilst original volumes are being repaired and conserved, facsimile reproductions can be made to provide working copies and enable the original to be more securely preserved. This service is provided for titles that are out of copyright or have been cleared of copyright restrictions.

Other Binding Services

We can also reinforce and laminate paperbacks, print and bind blank registers and bind loose records, registers and minutes. In addition, we are happy to undertake bespoke binding commisions for one-off or short-run special publications.
